WELLINGTON, October 22. Thursday's gale was very severely felt in the nawke's Bay district. At Dannevirke, chimneys were blown down in all directions and roofs torn off. A new hotel, which was being erected at Pohui, was blown down.
PALMERSTON NORTH, October 22. At a meeting of the committee of the A. and P. Association to-day, a number of new members were elected, "bringing the total membership up to 1033. Mr T. Wilson has received many congratulatory telegrams and letters on his re-elec-tion to tibe Railway Appeal Board. DUNEDIN, October 22. JtH concerned in the gaining .house raid were remanded to appear before the magistrate, Mr Carew, on Thursday. GREYMOUTH, October 23. The coal export of the Blackball Company for the week was 715 tons 13cwt, and of the Brunner Company 625 tons. There were 5000 sleepers and 120,000 ft of timber exported.
