RICCARTON TRAINING NOTES.
Tuesday. Work was commenced earli.r than usual, and there were more horses on the tracks before breakfast than at any time this season. Impulse was sent steadily once round, and Golden Fieece, Nautilus Shell, Crachfield, and the Apremout—Dudn colt put in similar work. Safeguard covered two circuits at a slow pace. Barmby and Loveshot jumped off aud ran six furlcngs fast, the latter, who had a slight advantage at tbe start, was ridden out, and kept his position throughout. The time, 1.20, indicates that the track is in fair order. Little Jack put iv a half pace circuit. Sheenau on a back led Alcestis twice round. Marino covered a mile and a half, his light weight rider having a good hold of his head throughout. The last circuit was covered in 2.38, equal to a 2.48 go for the mile and a half. Bisley and Kit sprinted about three furlongs. Artilleur and Mona were companions in a mile gallop, done at a little better than three quarter pace. Liberator ran more rreely than Salvo at the end of a mile. Skirmisher solus covered a circait at half pace. Neroli and Ambush traversed a mile, and Solano, Wed-
lock, and Sharp3hot were each worked steadily about the same distance. Masou had a big string down from Yaldhurst. Bloodshot, Manser, and Musketry went a little over once round at about half pace. Bloodshot wanted to go on, -nd both he and Mauser were pulling hard. Ballicent went at a steady pace once round alone, and Mannlicher, as is his wont, went striding determinedly over the same distance. Legion of Honor, 03mauie, and Spectrum cantered ouce round, and theu walked back and ran down the straight at a fair pace, keeping together. The appoaranc. of the Yaldhurst team lent much interest, to the proceedings. Vogengang put in a nice striding gallop once round, Minerva coming home with him the last five furlongs. Magazine in a leisurely manner led Richlake home at the end of a circuit commenced at an easy pace, the latter going in a lazy style. Medicus, though not ridden out, was too good for Cannon Ball at five furlongs. Thom.ou's pair, Rustic and Starshot, ran four furlongs well within themselves. Mainstay, Clarence and Georgie Sharp cantered, and ' Empire and Jack wen* others that | did only the mildest half pacing. Ban'ie-.* j and several others were on the walking list.
