MARKET REPORTS.
There was a good attendance at the Rangiora markets yesterday. In the yardi of Mr W. Buss there was an entry of 1900 sheep, 75 cattle, 90 pigs. Competition waa brisk. Prices were—Crossbred butchers' sheep 13s to 14s Bd, do hoggets unahorn 6i 61 to 9a 6d, do hoggets shorn 5s to 6s, - line of 300 freezers 19s, do ewes and lambs 10s to 10s 6J, 300 halfbred ewes and wethers 13a Id. Cattle—Beef equal to 24s per 1001b, springers £3 to £6, dry cows £2 10s to £4, a nice line of yearling cattle £3 ls, ordinary sorts 30s to 40j. Pigs—Light baconers 25a to 30s, porkers 14s to 18s, good stores 7a to 10s, weaners 3s to 63.
In the yards of Messrs Tutton and Wilmot the prices were:— Heavy butchers' crossbred skins 4s to 5s Bd, farmers' do. 3s 6d to 53 3d, heavy merinos 3s 6d to 4s lOd, lighter do to 3a, rough fat lj,d per lb, rendered do. l_rl, merino wool 5d to 6d, fowls ls lOd to 4s, turkeys 7s 6d, ducks 3i to 43, chick wheat 2s 3d to 3s, milling do. oa 4d, oats (feed) 2s, barley 2s 2d to 2s 6d, beans 2s 6j, peas 2s 9d to 3s, oatsheaf chaff 55s to 60s per ton, straw chaff 30a, potatoes 2s 91 sack, carrots 2s, bran 3s 9d, sharps 6a, flour (farmers') 153, do. guaranteed 18a. Ab the North Canterbury Saleyards there was an entry of about 500 sheep, 20 head cattle, and 20 pigs. There waa a good demand for fat sheep. Prime freezers sold up to 18s 6d, fat crossbred ewes from 12s 6d to 14s 6d, shorn do 9s 6dto 10a 6d, forward wethers and maiden ewes from lis 6d to 133 9J, merino wethers sold from 10a 6d to lis 6d ; do ewea, with lambs, were hard to quit at from 4s to 53 6d. Fat cattle—Prime beef made 255, forward storea to £5 sa, beat cows sold up to £6 153, medium do to £3 10s. In the Produce Yards skins Bold at the best price recorded this year, best crossbreds selling up to 63 lOd, half breds to 6s 3d, merinos to 53. Yesterday, at the Ashburton Yards, there was a small attendance of farmers, and those that were in the yards were not inclined to do business, owing to the dry weather. There were about 5000 sheep in, mostly crossbred hoggets. Fat sheep lis 9d to 16s 6d for crossbred, fat merino ewes 9s lld to 6s 9d, fat merino wethera lis 4d to 10s 2d, crossbred hoggets 8a to 93, crossbred ewes with fair percentage oi lambs lis 6d to 13a ; for merino ewes and lambs there were practically no buyers. Cattle—Fat £6 to £8 ss, springers £3 lOt to £4, miloh cows £4 to £5 10a.
