What Is A 5,000 Or Similar Club

Mention has been made in this paper and elsewhere about the formation in this town of a 5,000 Club. In order that our readers may be informed about its aims and objects etc. we propose over the next few weeks and prior to the initial formation meeting giving some brief details about such a project. A body of citizens embracing every economic and social sphere in the town who voluntarily combine to so improve the industrial, economic and social amenities of the town that it will attract and, once it has attracted, support satisfactorily in every way an increase in the population to the figure mentioned in the aims of the Club.
