Women In A Democratic World

TRIBUTE TO MR SUCKLING . s “We’re living in a democratic world and we realise the fortunes and misfortunes of the system. Women are determined to take their part,” said the chairman of the Bay of Plenty Hospital Board, when, at Thursday’s meeting, he referred to the work done by a defeated candidate, Mr C. A. Suckling. Mr Suckling had served on the finance committee at a time when finance was difficult matter. He welcomed Mrs D. C. Petty, who succeeds Mr Suckling as a town member. A vote of thanks was passed to Mr Suckling for his services over a long period.
