Support For Bowling Club At Edgecumbe
About 15 were present at a meeting in the Central Theatre, arranged by the Edgecumbe Progressive Association with a view to forming a bowling club. Representatives of the sport from Otakiri, Awakeri and Edgecumbe were present. Although attendance was poor members assured the meeting that sufficient district support was forthcoming. A “ways and means” committee was elected consisting of Messrs A. Marx, W. Cross, B. Walsh, P. Bridger, S. Yardley and G. Waugh. They will report back to a further meeting later.
