UP TO £14,000 TO BE RELEASED IN WHAKATANE
INCENTIVE BONUSES FOR EMPLOYEES OF BOARD MILLS
Whakatane Board Mill employees will have between £13,000 and £14,000 in accumulated incentive bonuses to spend this Christmas. Under the production bonus scheme all employees (except office staff and executives), who are concerned directly or indirectly with the production of cardboard, benefit equally as a result of increased production which is up to the required quality as well as being in excess of the quantity set as a fninimum- or standard.
Formerly the bonus was distributed every four weeks but last January at the suggestion of’ the employees’ own bonus committee, participants were given the option of continuing to dra\y their bonus monthly or accumulating it until just before Christmas. The great majority of employees chose the latter alternative with the result that this substantial sum will be liberated in the town December 7. The amount represents about £74 for each participant.
