Average Yarding At Waimana
Messrs Dalgety and Co. Ltd. report an average yarding of sheep and Jersey description cattle at their Waimana stock sale on Wednesday. Competition throughout was keen especially for young paddock cows—values for these being well in advance of recent rates. Prices generally were very firm on recent quotations. They quote:—
W/F wether hoggets, forward condition, £2 15s to £3; shorn fat wethers, £2 15s 6d to £2 18s; B/F shorn 2-tooth sheep to £2 15s. Cattle: Heavy fat Jersey cows, £l6 to £lB ss; light fat and paddock cows, £lO 10s to £l4 ss; empty Jersey heifers, £9 to £11; other Jersey padock cows, £8 to £9 15s; cull cows, £5 to £6 13s; medium grown yearling Jerseys r.w.b., £9 10s; 2year Jersey heifers, r.w.b., £8 15s to £9.
Dairies: Best second calvers, C.T.P., £l6 to £18; other Jersey heifers to calve, £ll to £l2.
