A win for the Whakatane pair, N. H. E. Hockin and A. R. Watson, in the foursomes was the only success > gained by Whakatane and Te Teko golfers at the Bay of Plenty Champion of Champion tournament at Mount Maunganui yesterday. Champions from clubs in this district played those of other clubs. Teams matches and foursomes were also played.

Steady rain from the middle of the afternoon onwards spoilt the day. Visitors had considerable trouble in avoiding the rough. One Whakatane champion lost seven balls and found eight. ■'
