Awakeri Branch Of Women’s Division
In the absence of Mrs E. C. Haultain, who was attending a meeting of the Taneatua branch, Mrs Fabish presided over a good attendance of members at a meeting of the Awakeri branch W.D.F.F.
Arrangements were made for the Bay of Plenty Provincial meeting to be- held in the Awakeri Hall on November 1.
The competition for a bowl of flowers in the modern manner was judged by Mrs L. Carter, who afterwards gave members a criticism of the bowls.
A further competition was much enjoyed by members. Competition winners were:— Flower, Mrs Jensen 1, Mrs C. Wilson 2, Mrs Brizzle 3; bowl of flowers, Mrs Wilson 1, Mrs Arrol 2, Mrs A. Barr 3; fruit, Mrs L. Carter 1, Mrs Brizzle 2, Mrs Wilson 3; vegetable, Mrs Wilson 1, Mrs McGougan 2, Mrs Arrol 3.
