BAY FARMERS HAVE EVIDENCE ON PORT QUESTION
Draft evidence to be placed before the port inquiry tribunal at Rotorua this month was considered by the executive of. the Bay of Plenty Sub-Province (Auckland Province) of Federated Farmers in Whakatane on Tuesday. The president, Mr R. Dunning, reviewed the evidence, which, he said, was based on farmers’ needs. He considered that the basic consideration must be whether or not a port was needed from a farmers’ point of view and, if so, what . size of port was needed. Where the port should be, the meeting considered was a matter for technical experts to decide.
