Whakatane Table Tennis Championship
Mr J. Snorgrass defeated Mr D. Haddon 2/0 to win the men’s championship, and Mrs I. Burrows defeated Miss G. Phillips 2/1 to win the women’s at the Whakatane Table Tennis Championships held in in the Winter Show Buildings on Wednesday evening. The men’s handicap tournament was won by Mr M. Hamill with I. Wilkes runner-up and Miss K. Jordon defeated Miss M. Wilkins to win the women’s.
The standard of play was good and all players showed considerable improvement since the first club night held at the beginning of the winter. The club season has now closed.
