Opposition To Proposal To Set Up Committee

Opposition to the proposals to sot up committees of car dealers and representatives of Federated Farmers to carry out a survey of the requirements of members for new motor cars was expressed at a ms'iting in Whakatane of the Bay of Plenty Province of Federated Farmers by Mr F. Woolsey, Te Puse. Mr Woolsey opposed the inclusion of motor dealers on the committees which are to be set up by all branches of the federation in an endeavour to obtain a greater -illocation of cars to farmers.

The question ar'ose when Mr A. C. Robins, Thornton, asked if there was any need for car dealers to be included on the proposed committees. Mr D. C. Butler, Rangitaiki, and the secretary, Mr W. J. Livingstone, stated that car dealers were "right behind the federation."

"Indications are that farmers and dealers will be working together harmoniously," commented the president, Mr S. A. Wells, Katikati. He felt certain that there would be no difficulty in the two organisations working side by side.
