Re-Organisation In Federated Farmers Is Suggested

Because of the lack of representation of some branches the setting up of two sub-provincial organisations of Federated Farmers, Bay of Plenty Province, to cover the eastern and western sections of the Bay, was deferred until the next executive meeting. This was decided by the executive meeting held at Whakatane. Some concern was expressed by several speakers of n possible split in the district between the two sub-organisations. It was intended, the chairman, Mr S. A. Wells, explained, to form the two sub-provinces to deal with purely local matters. Anything affecting the Bay of Plenty as a whole would be dealt with by the Bay of Plenty executive.
