Electrical Installations In The Borough
Installations made were reported on as follows by the electrical engineer, Mr F. W. Lysaght, to the Whakatane Borough Council on Monday night:— New Service Lines: The new service lines erected during the past month are as follows: — One single phase service line in King Street, light. One 3-phase service line in Louvain Street to supply lighting, heating, range and cylinder. Ten 3-phase service lines in Tuhoe Avenue to supply lighting, range and cylinders in State houses. One 3-phase service line in Bridge
Street to supply lighting, range and cylinder. One 3-phase service line in King Street to supply, lighting, range and cylinder. One 3-phase service line in Victoria Avenue to supply lighting, range and cylinder. One 3-phase service line in Bridge Street to supply lighting, range and cylinder. One 3-phase service line in Domain Road to supply lighting, motors and range.
One 3-phase service line in McGarvey Road to supply lighting, range and cylinder. One 3-phase service line in Bridge Street to supply lighting, range and cylinder. One temporary 3-phase service line at the hospital to supply builders saw motor.
One single phase service line in Hinemoa Street to supply lighting and heating. One 3-phase service line in McAlister Street to supply lighting and range. Two service line alterations. Total of 24 services. ■ - New Installations: The following new installations have been tested and connected to the Council's supply also a number of alterations and additions:—
Lifighting, heating and plug-in ranges 1, ranges 6, cylinders 4, motors 4, lighting and heating 9. New Street Lighting: Two new street lighting fittings have been installed in Alexander Avenue and one on the corner of King Street and new County Road, Bridge Bridge Street area as instructed by the Council.
Water "Works Department: The pumping plants have been in service every day during the month Considerable increase in the water demand has taken place during the month. No. 3 pump has been completely overhauled by A. and G. Price, Thames. The Council's staff has now re-installed this plant. A new Royles filter for the gland water pump has arrived from England and has now been fitted to this pump and should greatly help to cut down wear due to pumice etc. in the water.
