Pigs Maintain Value At Edgecumbe
The Farmers’ Co-op. Auctioneering Co. Ltd. report on their fortnightly pig sale held at Edgecumbe on Monday. A medium entry of pigs was penned, consisting mostly of pork and stores, with a few pens of medium bacon.
Bacon sold on a par with recent quotations while store and weaner pigs improved in values on last sale. Quotations: —
Choppers, £5 15s to £7; medium bacon, £7 to £7 10s; light bacon, £6 5s to £6 18s; heavy pork and large feeders, £5 10s to £6; medium pork and large stores, £4 18s to £5 8s; medium stores, £4 to £4 15s; good slips and small stores, £3 5s to £3 17s; best weaners, 35s to £2 6s; sows to farrow, £6 to £9 ss; fat woolly hoggets to £4 10s; store woolly hoggets, £2 Is to £2 17s 6d.
