£25 Raised For Otakiri Sportsman
Otakiri Hall was the scene of a 'yell attended dance sponsored by the local Hockey and Football Clubs. The proceeds are to be devoted to assist a local sportsman, Ted Mulligan to obtain eye treatment from a specialist. Mr Mulligan represented Otakiri in both hockey and Rugby v and received injuries in an accident when returning from a match. Mr G. O. Lord, the M.S., thanked those present for their support and had announced that about £25 had been made available. Novelty Dance winners were:—• Monte Carlo: Mr A. Caverhill and Miss J. Mayo. Lucky Spot: Mr Schrieder and partner. Competition winners: Dely and Derley, a visitor from Upper Hutt, and Keith I’Anson.
