CHAMBER WANTS PREPARATIONS FOR ’DROME

Though it realises that no aerodrome can be provided for some time, the Whakatane Chamber of Commerce is anxious that an anemometer (wind-recording instrument) should be installed on the Crown land by the golf links, where, it is hoped, an aerodrome will some day be situated. It is necessary that recordings be taken for two years before an aerodrome is established. The executive of th Chamber has had considerable correspondence on the subject with the Director of Meteorological Services and, at a meeting last week decided to bring the matter to his attention again.
