Te Teko W.D.F.F.’s Unusual Meeting
The Te Teko Women’s Division of Federated Farmers held an interesting meeting last Thursday. After general business, a panel of six members took part in the roll call subject “Child Psychology.” Mrs L. B. Smith introduced the subject of parents of the good old days when a child should be seen but not heard. Mrs P. Goodwin followed on parents’ responsibility for preparing children for their future. Next, Mrs McDonald spoke on the training and behaviour of both' child and parent. The child’s place in the home should not be the ruler was Mrs G. Nation’s part. Mrs Harty then took up the subject of teaching the child to share willingly and be a good mixer. The last speaker was Mrs Balfour who stressed the need for regular hours of attention to make a happy and contented baby and later in childhood forming good habits. Mrs Haultain, the guest speaker of the afternoon, chose for her subject “Problem Parents” as pleasured from a child’s point of view. Babies Costelo and Hunt received gifts from the branch of a Post Office Savings Bank each. The mystei’y parcel was won by Mrs J. Thomas.
