Maoris And Pakehas Co-operate
It was the first time Maoris had asked for Pakeha co-operation, said Cr W. M. Clark, at a meeting of the Whakatane County Council yesterday, when the action of the chairman, Mr J. L. Burnett, in donating £3O to the Matatua celebrations was endorsed. Councillors mentioned that local Maoris were the best Maori ratepayers in New Zealand and that the donation was justified.
