Two Men Who Caused Trouble At Weekend Fined £2

The two men who caused the only trouble of the weekend were called in the Whakatane Court yesterday. They were Thomas Te Kuru, 25, mill hand, of Rewatu, and William Roger Paul, 27, freezing worker, of Poroporo. They were charged with fighting with each other in the Strand on Saturday. Neither appeared. Mr H. G. Warren, J.P., was on the bench. . Constable R. F. Julian said tnat at 6.20 p.m. on Saturday, he saw the two men exchanging blows at the entrance to the children’s playground. Children were there. The men had been arrested and bailed out for £2 each. Accused were fined the amount of their bail.
