Mr Atkinson Will Stand. Mr Wilkes Will Not
Mr A. J. Atkinson, who was an unsuccessful candidate at the last Whakatane Municipal elections, will try again in November. He is a retired Borough foreman. Mr G. A. Wilkes, who is Whakatane postmaster, denies that he will be a Council candidate. His answer, when the question was put to him on Friday, was a simple “No.”
