Club Not Able To Sponsor School Rowing At Whakatane
Because the club has not enough boats available in the shed the Whakatane Rowing Club will not be able to sponsor high school rowing this season. This was stressed at the annual meeting on Wednesday night.
The president, Mr H. G. Cutler, said that the club had a couple of new boats on order and when these arrived there would probably be enough to hand over one for use of college rowers. No indication could be given at the present time when these craft would arrive.
“However,” Mr Cutler continued, “the club will always be pleased to welcome high school boys into the club.” At the present time young members were needed.
