Whakatane Rowing Club Supports War Memorial Scheme

Although it was considered the club would not derive direct benefit from the memorial full support was accorded the Whakatane War Memorial Community scheme by the annual meeting of the Whakatane Rowing Club. It was pointed out that this scheme would be the means of erecting a fine memorial to the men of the district who fell in World War 11. some of whom had been rowers. A direct donation of £lO waa made and the new committee was instructed to give support to the scheme. \
