Bull Worth Six Hundred Guineas Goes To Opotiki

Another big bench of buyers was present for the second day of the annual National Jersey Bull sale being conducted at Claudelands by Wright, Stephenson and Company.

One of the features of the auction was the offering of a special consignment of four bulls and two heifers on account of the Country ■Gentlemen’s Association, St. Heliers, Jersey Island. These entries realised from 200 to 800 guineas, and averaged 426 guineas. The heifers to make the figure of 800 guineas was the 2-year-old West Lynn Snowdrop (Imp.), which was said to Dr. G. Walker, the wellknown Whangarei breeder. One of the 2-year-old bulls of the consignment was sold at 600gns to Mr J. Paul, of .Opotiki. This entry was Beaupre Jester C. Two other of the 2-year-old bulls sold at 200 gns a piece. Other sales of Bay of Plenty interest were: Ngahina Silver Sam to Mr J. M. Lally. Te Puke, llOgns; Abbeville Royal Draconis, Mrs L. S. Jepson, Te Awamutu, to W. H. Wilson, Te Puke, 75gns; Beaulieu Golden Jester, Dr Geo. Walker, to Messrs Boon and Berg, Whakatane, 200gns.
