THE OHOPE ROAD

Sir, —Ohope suffers greatly from neglect of its road but perhaps neglect would be preferable to what has lately been perpetrated by the County surfaceman in the matter of excavations near the hostel and tennis courts. In drawing attention to this, the writer is not doing so as a disgruntled ratepayer, but in all seriousness to warn motorists and others of the dangef in this locality. Mothers of small children should be specially watchful of their offsprings. Yours etc., OHOPIAN September 19, 1950.
