Big Sale Of Health Stamps In Whakatane
Sale of Health Stamps in Whakatane over the last few years have shown a steady increase; the figures for the last three years being as follows: — 1947 £l7B 4 0 1948 £283 3 0 1949 £362 5 0 The advance orders for 1950 Health Stamps already received indicates that the present year’s sales Will constitute another record. Health stamps are valid for postage on correspondence addressed to any part of the world to which postal service is available. They may also be used for the stamping of receipts. The sales on the first day last year were £243 and in the first fortnight of the campaign £316 so that the quota should not be difficult to attain.
The total sales last year at Whakatane were £362 ss. The stamps were sold out at the point and no more were available. A considerable number of would-be purchaswere disappointed as there were many applications for stamps after the supply had run out.
