Indoor Bowling

BOARD MILL UNLUCKY The Board Mill St John Indoor Bowling team, R. Ranby, J. Doust, R. Martin and H. Moen (skip) were unlucky not to be successful in their challenge for the St. John Shield against the Whakatane St. John team, G. Ramson, A. W. Mclntosh, H. L. Drube and E. Ramson (skip). The first game of seven heads ended in a tie, so an extra head was played and won by the Board Mills St. John team, but at the conclusion of play Whakatane St. John had the advantage. (Whakatane scores first) "5/7, 11/6, 7 all, 8/4. Members of the Legion of Frontiersmen Indoor Bowling team, who have issued a challenge for the" Shield, and will be playing next Wednesday, spent the evening practicing at the St. John Hall.
