Racing Club Still Seeks Totalisator

Further representations will be made to the Minister of Internal Affairs, Mr Bodkin, for extra racing days to be allocated so that the club may hold totalisator meetings. This was decided at the annual meeting of the club on Wednesday night. It was decided to seek the assistance of the member for the district, Hon. W. Sullivan. The opinion was expressed that, although the Racing Commission was against the granting, of further, racing days, the isolation of Whakatane as a sporting centre warranted the holding of totalisator meetings here.
