Census Of Traffic Taken In District
A census of traffic in all parts of the Whakatane district is being carried out. It is part of a census being taken by the Main Highways Board in all parts of New Zealand. It began last Friday morning and will finish next Friday morning, men being employed in shafts. Every vehicle passing set points is noted, the types and sizes being recorded. In this district observers are stationed at Poroporo, Matata, Te Teko, Galatea, Taneatua, Wainui road junction (Ohope) and Kutarere.
