Price Of Rubber Goods Will Rise
The price of rubber goods sold at Whakatane and other centres of the Bay of Plenty is likely to rise considerably within, the next few weeks. This follows the sharp increase in the price of rubber at New Zealand’s source of supply. Within nine months the price has risen from Is 2£d a lb to 4s Id and shows no sign of stopping at that figure. According to a Whakatane retailer goods will rise in price accordingly although there is little likelihood of a shortage in any lines. The supply of tyres is returning to normal.
