Fine Service Of Dr F. J . Appleby To St. John Movement

Reference to fine service to the district by Dr F. J. Appleby was made by speakers at a social of the Whakatane St. John Ambulance Association on Thursday night. Dr Appleby has just retired. The president of the Association, Mr A. J. Canning, traced the history of the St. John movement at Whakatane and the assistance given it by Dr Appleby. Other speakers were Mr E. Ramson, superintendent of the Whakatane Brigade, and Drs E. Dawson and R. Akel.

In replying Dr Appleby said he would always try to keep in touch with the Association.
