Wedding

BUDD—cruse A very pretty wedding was solemnised at St. George’s Church, Whakatane, recently when Oriel, youngest daughter of Mr and Mrs A. B. Cruse, Thornton, was married to Huia, only son of Mrs and the late Mr Budd, of Staffordshire, England. The officiating Minister was Rev. T. Loten, and the wedding music was played by Mrs Fraser.

The bride wore a graceful gown of lace cut on form fitting lines to the waist with a full three tier skirt terminating in a long oval train. A row of covered buttons trimmed the back of the gown and long sleeves formed a point over each hand. Her embroidered tulle veil was worn with a halo of orange blossoms and she carried a fanshaped bouquet of white roses. She was attended by her sister, Valerie, as bridesmaid who wore a very pretty gown of mauve lace and carried a bouquet of cream roses. The gridegroom was attended by Mr Stanerford, Auckland, best man. After the ceremony a reception was held at the Thornton Hall, Mrs Cruse receiving the guests in a smart wine frock. The table were beautifully arranged with bowls of spring flowers. For travelling the bride chose a blue frock with wine coat and hat with matching accessories. Mr and Mrs Budd will make their future home at Pokeno.
