Beautifying Society Plants Rose Trees In Whakatane Street
With the planting of 24 standard roses, in Crete the Whakatane Beautifying Society concluded its street tree planting campaign for the season on Saturday. The planting attracted . lively interest. Although the roses are of varying colours the shades are popular arid should enhance the appearance of the already neatly-kept street. Each plant is to be staked with stakes donated by Mr B. Sullivan. The fruit trees planted in Salonika Street some months ago have progressed steadily and, according to the president of the Society, Mr R. Buttimore, are being well cared for by nearby residents.
