The New Zealand Post Office Association’s gold medallion awarded for outstanding service has been presented to Mr G. A. Wilkes, postmaster at Whakatane. The presentation was made at Auckland at the Diamond Jubilee Conference of delegates from all over New Zealand.

This is the sixth occasion on which the medallion has been awarded in the last 20 years. The award is a handsome eightsided medal. On one side in the centre is a clenched fist wringed with a blue band on which the full name of the Association is printed in gold letters.
