Decrease In Dairy Produce For Export
A decrease of 313 tons of creamery butter graded for export in New Zealand for June, 1950, compared with the corresponding month the previous year is shown in the figures issued by the Dairy Division, Department of Agriculture. Figures for cheese show a decrease of seven tons over those for the same period the previous year. Creamery butter graded for export for the 11 months ended June 30, 1950, totalled 141,175 tons compared with 142,182 tons for the same period in 1948-49. The figures for cheese for the same 11-month period show an increase of 5627 tons.
If the figures are converted imo butterfat equivalent, there is an increase of less than one per cent in butter graded for the 11 months compared with the corresponding period of the preceding season.
