Edgecumbe School Is One Of District's Best Equipped
The annual meeting of the Edge* Scumbe District Parent-Teacher Association was held in the school on Thursday. There were 27 members present. The president, Mr D. McCorquin- • dale, in his report, dealt with the . steady growth of the Association and the very satisfactory achievements. Many pleasant social evenings had been held in the school enabling parents and teachers to
meet and talk over problems relating to the children.' Card evenings « N :had shown a satisfactory profit and u ,a very successful concert held recently had helped considerably towards swelling the funds of the .Association. • The secretary reported a total of £92 received during the year and a credit balance of £2O to start the new year. The headmaster, Mr R. J. Patti«on, thanked the Association for its great assistance to the school, and stated that through the efforts of ■the Association the school was one of the best equipped in the district. Officers elected:— President, Mr McCorquindale; vice-president, Mr Hale; secretary, Mrs C. Clark; committee, Mr Crooks. Mesdames Pearse, Watson, Andrews and Davies.
