PAROA A LEAD SENIOR COMPETITION Two defeats of Olympics, who were previously leading with Paroa A, was the surprise o"f the senior Whakatane basketball competition on Saturday. Although they had just as many chances. Olympics failed in their goal throwing against Paroa A and lost 15-7. In their second match against High School A they had another loss and went down 19-15. Paroa A now.take the lead of the senior division while St Joseph’s lead in the junior grade. Results:—

Paroa A 15 v Olympics 7, High School A 19 v Olympics 15, Paroa A 27 v Poroporo 10, Paroa B 14 v Redwings 1, Paroa B 16 v High School B 10, St Joseph’s 15 v Primary A 10, Primary A 14 v Primary B 1.

OTAKIRI ARCHERY Following are of the Otakiri Archery Club’s competitions held yesterday:— 96 arows at 110 yards: N. Foote 621, J. Dahl 599, A. Smith 569, D. G. Campbell 525, Mrs L. Foote 454, D. A.
