Murupara District Nurse Farewelled By Many Friends
Miss G. Maxwell, district nurse for Te Whaiti, Minginui, Ruatahuna and Maungapohatu, has left the district to be married. Nurse Maxwell covered a very wide area in the Urewera in the course of her duties, and frequently her car could be found late at night on these lonely roads with the nurse cheerfully on duty. She was farewelled in the various districts. At Ruatahuna friends presented her with a silver tea service. At Te Whaiti, Mr H. Macpherson spoke for the people and presented her with a travelling rug. Mrs Mary Tai was spokeswoman at this function for Minginui friends. The staff of the Rangitahi School entertained Miss Maxwell at a party at the school house. Miss Maxwell is replaced by Miss Abbot.
