Miniature Rifles
HOLDERS OF TROPHY CHALLENGED The Beacon rifle team, L. O. Stewart, Miss A. Bathe, L. R. Spring and J. Jessop; has been challenged by Mrs J. Critchley, B. Grant, L. Attwood and D. Dufty of the P. and T. for the Tyssen Interhouse Shield, and will be defending it at the Whakatane Legion of Frontiersmen Miniature Rifle Club shoot on Tuesday evening. Both teams are comprised of experienced rifle shots, and are well matched, so the competition should prove to be very close.
An attractive programme has been drawn up for the Legion of Frontiersmen’s Ladies’ Night, to be held tomorrow. It is hoped by the committee of organisers to make it as much like an old-fashioned party as possible, and old-time competitions and dances are included in the programme.
