Indoor Bowling
WHAKATANE CENTRE TO BE FORMED At a meeting in the St John Hall on Tuesday night a move is to be-made to form an indoor bowling centre at Whakatane. During the last few months interest in the sport has increased steadily in the district and the decision to form a centre was made this week when it was stated that 36 teams were competing in a tournament at present being held each week-end. At the meeting on Tuesday the president of the Bay of 'Plenty Centre will attend.
Clubs are being formed in most districts and it is probable that they will be affiliated to the Whakatane Centre.
