LARGE CROWD AT MURUPARA R.S.A. ANNUAL BALL

A large, happy crowd gathered in the Rangitahi Hall, Murupara, on Friday night to enjoy the annual ball of the Murupara branch of the R.S.A. Freddie Burt’s Band played for dancing and Mr J. Lee acted as M.C. A tasty buffet supper of wild pig and poultry was served and Mr D. Cameron expressed his thanks to all those who helped to make the evening a success. Mrs Cameron and Mrs D. Rewi played the piano for extras during the evening. Amongst those present were:— Mrs Ramshaw, a green taffeta skirt with white blouse; Mrs Kinzett, turquoise blue floral georgette with green velvet bodice; Mrs''Paton, cyclamen crepe; Mrs ‘Esmond, green taffeta with black "lace yoke; Miss Dixon, pale mauve taffeta with black velvet shoulder cape; Mrs D. Turnbull, black crepe- Miss King, mauve taffeta; Miss Gibbs, shot silk taffeta; Mrs Williams, a black lace skirt with white jacket; Mrs Lee, emerald French crepe with sequins; Mrs Cameron, black crepe also with sequins; Mrs Pratt, white lace with over bodice and peplum of black lace; Mrs Keller, white lace; Mrs Gear, red crepe with white joke; Mrs Neville, heliotrope watermarked taffeta; Mrs Nettleton, floral sheer crepe; Mrs Rogers, floral linen; Mrs Newton, figured crepe with black bolero; Mrs T. Hickey, green and white candy striped taffeta; Mrs Woller, black taffeta and net with blue lace yoke; Miss White, figured linen; Mrs Stunnell, light navy blue with scarlet chiffon stole; Miss F. Cawte, white lace skirt with black velvet tunic; Mrs Rowlands, rose pink taffeta with bolero; Miss L. Sheridan, black taffeta skirt with peach bodice; Mrs Cawte, black crepe with a tiered skirt; Mrs Webb, sky blue taffeta with peacock blue velvet jacket; Miss Maxwell, a white net skirt with cord faggotted bodice and embroidered Chinese jacket; Miss Davis, old rose crepe; Miss Stunnell, mauve taffeta; Mrs ReWi, green net over taffeta; Mrs Chapman, floral crepe,. Mrs Stunnell ’ and Mr Newton were the winners of the Monte Carlo.
