Power Board Sale Of Electricity Has Increased Over Year

The gross sale of electricity during the past year increased by £5909 6s 2d, having exceeded the estimates by £265 7s 8d the engineermanager, Mr J. D. Dicker, reported to the annual meeting of the Bay of Plenty Power Board held at Opotiki. The average revenue per unit sold was .861 d an increase of .819 d of the 'previous year.

Mr Dicker stated that working costs had increased by 4.64 per cent but included in this item was the cost of power purchased which represented 62.8 per cent of the total working costs. This had increased 10.4 per cent from £31,430 to £34,704 ss. The total costs amounted to £71,106 9s 2d, an increase of 3.69 per cent.

Power costs represented 43.5 per cent of the electricity revenue and the increase amounted to 60.6 per cent of the increase in electricity sales.
