The Whakatane Board Mills Indoor Bowling team played the Whakatane St John Ambulance team oh Wednesday evening in the first challenge for the Whakatane St John Challenge Shield. The St John team, E. J. Ramson (skip), R. Drube, A. W. Mclntosh and G. E. Ramson, defeated W. Smith (skip), A. W. Jones, Mrs G. Bridgeman and R. Wells, of the Board Mills team, 2 heads to 1.
