Dairy Stock Not The Standard Of Last Sale At Waimana
A good yarding of mostly Jersey description cattle were penned at the monthly Waimana stock sale of Dalgety and Co. Competition for fat and boner cows remained steady with late rates ruling. The quality of the dairies offered was not up to the standard of the previous month, however a total clearance was effected at satisfactory prices. Fat Jersey cows, £lO 10s to £ll 4s; lighter Jersey cows, £9 5s to £9 17s; heavy boner cows, £8 to £9 2s; light to medium boner cows, £5 lis 6d to £7 16s; cull cows, £4 6s to £5 10s; yearling Jersey heifers, well grown, £8 15s to £9. Dairies: Medium grown Jersey heifers, to calve, £l4 15s to £l6; Ayrshire cross heifers, to calve, £ls to £ls 15s; best sound dairy cows, £ls to £l6; older and later calving cows, £l2 to £l4 10s.
