Arts & Crafts Circle Formed At Taneatua
A decision to form an arts and crafts circle, as there are sufficient members interested was reached at the monthly meeting of the Taneatua Women's Institute. A demonstration showing the use of foliage in arrangements was given by Mrs R. McGougan. This was followed by a wall competition arranged by Mrs K. Tebbutt and won by Mrs J. Goodhue. Members of the drama circle entertained with a most amusing sketch "A Case of Mistaken Identity." Competitions: Flowers, Mrs G. Santon 1, Mrs L. Grey 2; Mrs K. Tebbutt 3; vegetable, Mrs J. Lawn 1, Mrs Grey 2, Mrs J. Butler 3; shrub, Mrs Grey 1, Mrs M. Ewart 2, Mrs Lawn 3; Fair Isle knitting, Mrs Grey 1, Mrs Tebbutt 2, Miss M. Rae 3; peach jam, Mrs Tebbutt 1, Mrs Grey 2, Mrs G. Bennett 3.
