Gardening Circle Of Nukuhou W.I. Meets

The Nukuhou Women's Institute held the gardening circle meeting this month at the home of Mrs McGillivray and a most pleasant afternoon was spent. Mrs McGillivxay acted as chairma.i in the absence of Mrs Poole, and Mrs W. Macdonald acted as secretary in the absence of Mrs R. Bell. A gener&l discussion on vegetable and flower growing took place and Mrs Menzies gave a reading on pruning fruit trees.

A wall competition, "Flower Wedding," was won by Mrs R. Maedonald. The competition entries were very small and Mrs B. Burnett acted as judge: Best flower, Mrs M. King 1, Mrs Menzies 2; shrub, Mrs King 1; bowl winter decoration, Mrs King 1, Mrs Menzies 2.

Afternoon tea was served by Mesdames Croft and W. Macdonald.
