Arrangements For Frontiersmen’s Book Drive Completed
Arrangements for the book drive to be conducted by the Whakatane Legion of Frontiersmen on July 22 to collect suitable publications to start a library at the Whakatane Primary School have now been completed. The borough and Ohope will be canvassed by collectors operating from trucks. So far a large number of people have offered support and many people have already given books while several others have promised them. One woman who will not be at Whakatane on the day of collection recently purchased a book and gave it to an officer of the Legion as her gift.
The collection will start at 9 a.m. and continue throughout the day.
