British Farm Workers For Bay Of Plenty

Although a number of British farm workers, who are expected to reach New Zealand in September and early next year, will be coming to the Bay of Plenty to be placed on farms in the district few applications have been received for such labour, according to the Tauranga Branch of the Department of Labour. These workers will probably be snapped up as no more Dutch farm workers are expected to arrive in the Dominion for some considerable time.

So far it is known that six single British workers have been allocated to the Bay but because of the great demand in other areas it is likely that this number will be halved.
