GOOD ENTRIES RECEIVED Good entries have been received from outside clubs for the 72-hole stroke tournament to be held by the Whakatane Golf Club on July 21 and 22. Whakatane members may still enter but they are required to send in entries immediately. The new rules were explained in the clubhouse on Saturday evening to a large crowd an interesting address on golf etiquette was given by Brigadier A. Conway, secretary. HOLED IN ONE

The following were the leading scores in a stableford handicap played on the Whakatane Golf Links on Saturday: S. J. Hansen 30. H. B. Moen 36, W. G. Howat 36, C. B. Wyldes 35. W. D. Steel holed in one at the 14th hole, 130 yards. This effort was enthusiastically celebrated at the end of play.
